What is Shikaku?
Shikaku is a free daily rectangle-division puzzle. You divide a grid into rooms. Every room holds exactly one number, and that number is the room's area.
How do I play?
Draw a rectangle around exactly one number. The rectangle's width times height must equal that number. Cover every cell with no overlaps and no gaps. Every puzzle has exactly one valid solution.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. A new puzzle is issued once per UTC day, and everyone who plays that day gets the same grid, so you can compare results with friends without spoiling the answer.
Is Shikaku free to play?
Yes. Shikaku is free, with no account, login, or purchase required to play.
Is my data private?
Shikaku has no accounts or logins. Puzzle progress stays in your browser, and nothing is tied to your name or email — see the privacy page for details.
